The Preston Mitchum, Jr. Foundation is dedicated to addressing the crippling effects of poverty and violence on at-risk youth in our society. We seek to educate, empower and provide a vision of a brighter future for these youth through after-school programming and community-based services.

Action Plan
The Preston Mitchum, Jr. Foundation will accomplish this mission by providing after-school career awareness programs in elementary and middle schools; using the media (television and radio) as both a communication and technical training tool; and sparking the engagement of individuals in the community to give of their time, talent and resources. |

Background & Vision
The Foundation came to life in light of the vision of Preston Mitchum Jr., a ABC2 NEWS television journalist who witnessed the crippling effects of poverty, violence, and drug abuse on our children and families each day. It has also sparked his passion to encourage others to make a difference in our community. The Preston Mitchum Jr. Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization dedicated to providing people the opportunity to donate their time by volunteering for donation drives, youth initiatives, and making financial contributions for organization projects.
