Career Awareness Project

CAP - The Foundation's Career Awareness Project (CAP) is an after-school program devoted to providing Baltimore's youth access to an array of potential career opportunities and educational pathways that otherwise may not be within their daily experience. The CAP program promotes both higher education and skill-oriented careers and is an extension of our one-day Career Awareness Day; a successful annual event for the Foundation and its participants that has been held for the past five years. The CAP program is currently in its third year, with over 155 students actively participating at Baltimore County Public Schools. The Foundation continues to mentor and provide opportunities as it expands this program into area middle schools. With your support the Foundation will continue to mentor these students from the elementary school level through high school.

6th Annual Career Awareness Day

In 2010, The PMJ Foundation plans to take additional steps to assist youth and families in achieving success by expanding our Career Awareness Day event to over 150 Maryland youth (ages 9-14) from area schools, shelters and neighborhoods. This inspirational event is designed to motivate young people by providing detailed information on planning and securing a productive and optimistic future. Twenty professionals from a variety of careers including education, media, healthcare, aerospace, Army Corps of Engineers, and law enforcement will contribute to the success of this event by volunteering to share real life experiences and encouragement for obtaining positions in their field of work.

Over 300 area young people have benefited from our event over the last five years.

Please continue to view our website for more information about this event next summer.
